Tyler Galloway

  • Patti Grace Smith Fellow, Class of 2025

  • Roanoke College, Computer Science and Data Science, ‘27

  • Host Institution: HawkEye 360

Tyler Galloway is a second-year student athlete at Roanoke College and will be a first-generation college student in his family. Tyler is currently pursuing a double major in computer science and data science at Roanoke while also playing baseball. He entered college with little knowledge of computer and data science, but quickly grasped both fields after taking introductory courses. Tyler instantly knew this was the career he wanted to pursue after falling in love with the subject matter.

This past summer, Tyler discovered a new passion as an intern for a summer program called Interstellar Dreams, where he mentored a group of bright teens with aspirations to enter the space industry. This role inspired Tyler to apply his knowledge of computer and data science to space exploration, igniting a spark that eventually brought Tyler to the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship website. He is beyond fortunate for this opportunity and through this fellowship, is thrilled to gain real-world experience and knowledge and expand African American representation in the Aerospace sector.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.
