Savyon Stokes

  • Patti Grace Smith Fellow, Class of 2022

  • The University of Maryland , Aerospace Engineering, ‘25

  • Host Institution: HawkEye 360

I am a first-year student at the University of Maryland. I am an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers. I hope to use my knowledge and skills to inspire the people around me. My main goal is to be a trailblazer for the next generation of engineers. I believe that there are a large number of students that want to do engineering but need to be pointed in the right direction. I hope to start a non-profit for Black students with the purpose of exposing children to engineering at a young age. That seems to be the best way for me to make an impact on my community.
