Eyoel Getahun is a junior at Stanford University studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering. He has a strong interest in aerospace propulsion systems, which he has developed and further cultivated through coursework, student organizations, and personal projects.

Through Stanford’s Student Space Initiative (SSI), he has worked on the design and fabrication of the fluids cart and feedline for their hybrid rocket and co-led the design of the thrust stand for their current regeneratively cooled liquid rocket. He is currently working on analyzing the thermostructural integrity of the combustion chamber.

He has a deep love for learning and not only finds joy in problem-solving but also in helping others gain confidence in their ability to solve various challenges.

Outside of school, he enjoys biking, spending time with friends and family, and going on hikes.
