Christian Reid
Patti Grace Smith Fellow, Class of 2022
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University , Aerospace engineering , ‘24
Host Institution: First Mode
At a young age, Christian Reid fell in love with the concept of flight in all of its forms. To pursue that passion, Christian majored in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. As the Vice President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, a board member of the National Society of Black Engineers and a member of the Embry-Riddle honors society, he is very involved in their community, whether it be through hosting events, philanthropy, or helping others achieve their best selves through having access to the resources they need.
Christian believes being able to create and use those creations as a benefit to those around you is what it means to be an engineer, and to that effect they are currently starting up a research project autonomous ocean debris removal, pollution being one of the things that plagues our world right now. Christian’s life's goal after getting their masters degree and accumulating industry experience is to start their own business and be successful enough to freely help those around them and create whatever he desires.
Fun Fact: I love the beach, traveling, and reading in my free time.
