Gbemitireoluwa (Tirey) Daramola is a sophomore at the University of Maryland (UMD) with a major in aerospace engineering. Tirey’s passion for aerospace engineering comes from her fascination with space exploration. She hopes to contribute to space exploration through the development of rocket propulsion in her career. In her first semester at UMD her interest in rocket propulsion led her to join the Liquid Rocket Team within Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). She is currently the Ground Systems Equipment sub-team lead of the Liquid Rocket Team, and her sub-team develops the feed systems and test stands for the team’s rocket engines. Additionally, she is a lab assistant at UMD’s High Speed Aerodynamics and Propulsion Laboratory, where she prepares experiments for postdocs and doctoral students in the lab. In the future Tirey aims to get a masters degree in aerospace engineering, and become a propulsion engineer. Tirey is excited for her future in aerospace engineering where she can help the industry reach new heights.
